The questions we get before every order.
Sizes, condition, delivery and payment. If yours is not here, email us and we will answer it directly.
Sizes & specification
What sizes do you stock?
From 8ft × 10ft storage units up to 40ft high cube. The standard ISO range in between is 20ft, 30ft and 40ft, plus high cube variants and refrigerated units.
External dimensions for each size are listed on our Delivery & Installation page, which is the number you need when checking whether a unit will fit through a gateway.
What is the difference between standard and high cube?
Height. A standard container is 2,591 mm externally. A high cube is 2,896 mm — roughly 305 mm taller.
That extra foot is the difference between a usable ceiling once you have insulated and lined the inside, and a space that feels low. It is also the measurement that most often catches people out on access, so check it against gateways, soffits and low branches.
What is the usable width inside?
Around 2,350 mm internally on a standard ISO container, before you line the walls. Insulation and battening take more, which is why fitted interiors in a single container feel narrow and why multi-unit builds are joined side by side.
Can I have it in a specific colour?
Yes — any RAL colour. Our manufacturer sprays to the RAL standard rather than matching by eye, so the colour you specify is the colour that arrives.
Several products are listed in specific RAL references already, for example RAL 5012 blue, RAL 6005 moss green, RAL 9005 black and RAL 9016 white.
Condition & certification
Are the containers new or used?
Both. We list new and one-trip units alongside used cargo-worthy stock. The condition is stated on each product page — if it says used or cargo-worthy, it has carried freight.
What does “cargo-worthy” actually mean?
That the unit has been inspected and certified as structurally sound and fit to carry freight at sea. It is a meaningful standard, not a description of cosmetic condition — a cargo-worthy container will have surface marks, dents and patch repairs.
If appearance matters more than provenance, look at one-trip or new stock instead.
How do I know a unit is certified?
By its CSC safety plate — the stamped steel plate fixed to the door. It records the date of manufacture, identification number, maximum operating gross mass, allowable stacking load and racking test force.
Every container we hold carries one. If a container has no plate, we do not stock it.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
It depends on your postcode and your site access, so we quote it per order rather than publishing a flat rate. We price the unit and the haulage separately, so you can see which is which.
Where do you deliver?
Throughout the United Kingdom and the EU. Because stock is held at our UK entrepôt rather than sold from a sailing schedule, a UK delivery is a haulage booking rather than an import.
What access do you need?
Enough room for a loaded lorry to reach the spot and straighten up, firm ground, and clear airspace with no overhead cables. Where a lorry cannot get close we offload by crane instead, which costs more.
Tell us about gateposts, soft ground, narrow lanes and low branches before you order, not on the day. The Delivery & Installation page covers this properly.
What should the container stand on?
The load runs through the four corner castings, not along the base. Pads or sleepers under those four points, set level, do more good than a poorly poured full slab.
Get it level or the doors will fight you, and keep it clear of standing water.
Ordering & payment
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
Prices shown on the site are excluding VAT and excluding delivery. Both are confirmed on your quote.
Can I just order through the website?
You can add units to the basket and check out. For anything being delivered to a site we would rather you request a quote first, so the haulage is priced against your actual postcode and access before you commit.
Can you modify a unit before it ships?
Yes. Doors, windows, roll-up shutters, insulation, electrics and full fit-outs are all things our manufacturer does as standard — a large part of our stock is modified rather than plain. Describe what you want on the quote form and we will price it.
How long will I wait?
For units held in our UK entrepôt, the wait is haulage scheduling rather than manufacturing or shipping. For bespoke modifications built to order, the lead time depends on the specification.
We will give you a date with your quote rather than a general estimate here.
